Introducing the New InsideTracker Mobile App — Pioneering the Next Generation of Personalized Human Performance

Introducing the New InsideTracker Mobile App — Pioneering the Next Generation of Personalized Human Performance

It’s here. It’s arrived—the new InsideTracker mobile app.

After years of spirited debates, thousands of hours of scientific research, and countless iterations of designs, we are very proud to announce the achievement of a significant milestone for InsideTracker – the launch of our new iOS mobile app.

Now, InsideTracker customers can experience a new pinnacle of potential, personalization, and performance from your ultra-personalized nutrition system.

With this first of its kind, customer-exclusive app, you can now integrate real-time physiomarker data from your fitness tracker with your existing blood and DNA biomarker data. This unprecedented combination of Blood + DNA + Fitness Tracking data adds an exponential level of precision and customization to your InsideTracker Action Plan.

Fundamentally, it’s a simple equation with profound results. The more data you put into it, the more impact you get out of it.

Finally, a real-time and complete picture of your health and wellness

When we set about to design this new app from the ground up, we knew we had an ambitious task ahead of us, but one that would successfully realize our company vision. Integrate more and more scientifically proven biometric data inputs to deliver real-time, holistic health & wellness insights.

As a super performer, conscious achiever, and longevity seeker, you are actively looking to not only add more fidelity and deeper insights to your plans but also centralize all the growing and disparate sources of quantified data about your bodies. You wanted to measure more precisely, see more clearly, and act more confidently. In the end, understand the relationship, causation, and correlation between these different data points. You spoke, we listened, and it is here!

Additionally, as we dug deeper, our team of InsideTracker behavioral scientists unearthed more insights to inspire and inform our approach.

Building new habits that stick is a tall order for anyone. You must understand conceptually and intellectually “how” to get it done and be inspired, maintain & sustain, and have a systematic routine if you want to make progress in your health journey. The seeming complexity of orchestrating all these elements to drive desired behavior change can be overwhelming all on your own. And while you may have the goal in mind (e.g., strength, endurance, healthy aging), it can seem out of reach to visualize and realize the steps needed to reach that goal.

But with any challenges or speed bumps that come our way, we see opportunity. So we set about to create an elegant, mobile-first solution that addresses these problems head-on and puts the inherent power of InsideTracker right at your fingertips.

The app was created around a simple idea – provide limitless access to your health and wellness data, helping to keep you on track and build the sound habits you need to reach your health & wellness goals.

A host of brand new features were purpose-designed to provide a clearer & comprehensive picture of your health profile, real-time & immediate feedback, and put more customization & control in your hands.

Fitness tracking integration = more precision and personalization

We know that you, our insatiably curious InsideTracker customers, are measuring more and more data from a growing set of sources such as blood, DNA, and physiological biomarkers.

While all of these tell valuable, in-depth, and nuanced stories about what’s going on inside your body, the truth is they come at different times and frequencies.

Blood reflects what’s going on right now, but it’s just not practical or realistic to test daily. DNA can reveal your body’s potential for certain wellness traits, but your genetic blueprint is stable, unchanging and testing is genuinely only a once in a lifetime occasion. Physiological data, such as resting heart rate and sleep, provide motivating reminders of your daily activity and help monitor regular progress, but don’t effectively translate that data to simple, tangible, and effective “So now what?” actions.

The InsideTracker mobile app’s inherent power is its capability to make the whole truly greater than the sum of these individual parts. The simple act of adding fitness tracking data to your blood and genetic biomarkers unlocks never-before-seen dimensions of your InsideTracker Action Plan. Blood biomarkers now come with genetic and physiological insights. Our trusted, science-backed recommendations to improve your blood biomarkers now show how they will help you physiological markers and how your genetics impact both of them.

Sync your Fitbit to InsideTracker to automatically update your latest data, and you are on your way to seeing inside yourself from an entirely new perspective. A note to “other” fitness tracker fans. Yes, we are launching with Fitbit; however, Garmin and Apple Health integrations are next in line coming in early 2021, and more devices in the queue.

Daily and continuous optimization

At the heart of the new InsideTracker iOS app is the PULSE. This dynamic dashboard home base of the app integrates your daily Action Plan with your existing habits. It helps you visualize and plot your InsideTracker recommendations with easy guidance on how and when to incorporate them throughout your day.

These daily readings also feed into your WELLNESS SCORE, a newly calculated metric exclusive to our app that provides a daily snapshot of your progress towards optimizing your body. As you log actions according to your plan and change key physiological markers, you can track and monitor these changes reflected in your Wellness Score. InsideTracker’s data science team designed this proprietary algorithm to apply relative weight to critical changes and actions. Optimizations in your blood biomarkers will have a relatively more substantial effect on your Wellness Score. In contrast, improvements in physiological markers or daily check-ins on your Action Plan will have a somewhat smaller effect. Be sure to monitor your improvements because even those little changes in your Wellness Score will fuel feelings of reward and positively motivate you towards your goals.

And finally, you’ll get hyper-targeted PROTIPS to keep you on track towards your goals. Delivered daily, these nuggets of wisdom are a single, easy to follow, laser-focused recommendation that will have the most significant impact on improving your performance. Currently, PROTIPS are based on simple physiological recommendations, but soon we will be expanding PROTIPS to include nutrition and blood biomarker-based guidance.

More customization and control

InsideTracker’s behavioral science team was hard at work once again, reimagining the levels of flexibility, customization, and control you have over your InsideTracker Action Plan.

Go ahead and start by picking your goal. With thirteen (13) different goals to choose from, you can select the one you want to focus on, and we’ll help guide you to success. Because your body is dynamic, feel free to change your goal at any time.

New to the mobile app, you can now pick an Action Plan approach that fits your style. Do you want to build healthy habits one small step at a time? Choose the “Focused” approach to steadily zone in on your single highest-impact area. Or do you want to maximize your potential with a multi-step plan and make significant progress ASAP? Then choose “Strive” to fast track your plan by hyper-focusing on the top five highest-impact recommendations.

If it feels like there are too many recommendations, then go ahead and remove some. If you feel the spark to take on a few more, go ahead and add some. We put the power in your hands to design your own personal Action Plan’s pace, style, and robustness.

All of this customization culminates in another new key metric, the IMPACT SCORE. Your Impact Score shows you the strength and effectiveness of each recommendation specifically for you, guiding you to select the best habits to follow. The higher the score, the more influential the recommendation. The Impact Score is based on the number of biomarkers impacted by this recommendation, the strength of the science behind it, and the biomarkers’ importance to your goals.

Note that once you have successfully created your Action Plan on the new InsideTracker mobile app, we encourage you to look forward, not backward, because your Action Plan will now only live in your pocket where it rightfully belongs. Additionally, the new data provided by the app’s exclusive WELLNESS SCORE and IMPACT SCORE has created a dramatically improved Action Plan experience with deeper insights and more accountability.

The Brand-new HUAWEI Health Lab: Adding Simple yet Scientific Twists to Sports and Health Innovation

The Brand-new HUAWEI Health Lab: Adding Simple yet Scientific Twists to Sports and Health Innovation

Xi’an, China, 10th December 2020 – Huawei today announced the implementation of its brand-new HUAWEI Health Lab in Xi’an, China. HUAWEI Health Lab researchers, engineers and developers will jointly explore the innovation and application of new sports and health technology, bringing the scientific and convenient sports experience to global consumers.

The brand-new HUAWEI Health Lab includes an experimental smart wearable product testing area and a sports health innovation area. In the experimental smart wearable product testing area, the engineers have set up more than ten reliability tests based on strict standards. All of the HUAWEI smart wearables will stand up to destructive test repeatedly. Only those products that passed the test will be introduced to the market and eventually provide services to consumers. With more than 20 professional research devices, researchers simulate multiple exercise scenarios, collect fitness and health data, and continuously optimise Huawei’s fitness and health data algorithms. In this way, all of the consumers with different physical condition can obtain the accurate fitness and health data from our wearable products.

“Smart wearables are tiny gadgets, but they bear big thoughts which guide consumers to a more scientific workout experience and a healthier life,” said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group (BG). Today, Huawei’s smart wearables are among the most popular devices on the market, and as a response to consumers’ trust and loyalty, Huawei is committed to stay innovative, enhance R&D capabilities, and improve the professionalism in the field of sports and health technology to offer global consumers a scientific and healthy lifestyle.

Huawei unveils its brand-new HUAWEI Health Lab for professional enhancement

In 2020, HUAWEI launched seven smart wearables to the market. Smartwatches such as HUAWEI WATCH GT 2, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 Pro, and HUAWEI WATCH FIT have won acclaim from global consumers for their professional fitness and health functions and product experience.

According to the market research report of IDC, a world-renowned market consulting firm, Huawei’s wrist wearables ranked No. 1 in the second quarter of 2020.

To provide global consumers with more advanced smart wearable products and ultimate fitness and health experience, Huawei’s smart wearable and fitness and health R&D team spent nine months integrating existing R&D resources and introducing new professional research devices. After re-location and planning, Huawei’s smart wearable and fitness and health R&D team  has built the brand-new HUAWEI Health Lab to further enhance innovation capabilities.

Create precise algorithms and simple scientific workout experiences through complex R&D tests

The secrets to the birth of these scientific features are housed in the HUAWEI Health Lab. Over 40 researchers, developers and testers work together closely in the lab, actualising their passion for an active and healthy lifestyle with help from a wide range of specialised research equipment and innovative research methods. Behind the convenient health and fitness experience offered by Huawei wearable products, there are always complex R&D process happened within the HUAWEI Health Lab.

During the development phase of HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 Pro’s Golf Driving Range Mode, the indoor golf simulation device plays an important role. After 20,000 swings, more than 2,500 sets of professional data were collected, which algorithm engineers used to tune the algorithms so as to ensure that the feature provides the best possible experience for consumers.

In order to capture health data such as maximum oxygen uptake, running posture, heart rate and calories burnt when running, researchers at HUAWEI Health Lab has designed a core data collection system for running with the help of a foot pressure treadmill, cardio-metabolic mask, heart rate belt. optical gesture capture system and professional treadmill.

In 2020 alone, researchers have collected 10,900 hours of running data and a running mileage of around 105,000 kilometres[1]. These data are continuously verified and optimised by data algorithms to restore the actual physical state of people when they are running and are eventually applied to Huawei’s wearable products.

Multi-disciplinary research group continually advancing Huawei’s smart sports experience

“In the HUAWEI Health Lab, research equipment is not the only important element, but also researchers and their innovative research solutions,” said Rico Zhang, President of Smart Wearable and Health Product Line in Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG). HUAWEI Health Lab is staffed by researchers and developers with a wide range of professional backgrounds, spanning many areas across the spectrum of sports and human sciences. They include professionals from sports and human physiology, training and physical education, sports rehabilitation, medicine, software engineering, algorithmic engineering, bioscience engineering, material hardware, structural design and test engineering. “Together, this multi-disciplinary group of researchers and developers have combined and exchanged their expertise to create an innovative new research methodology, turning this laboratory to an innovative workshop for a healthy lifestyle and enable smartwatch to act as a wrist-bound personal trainer, helping consumers to exercise scientifically and live a healthier life.”

The first floor of the HUAWEI Health Lab is dedicated for reliability tests. Huawei’s product testing engineers reference to the national and international standards in using mechanical equipment and software to simulate extreme usage scenarios, and conduct durability tests on the hardware and software of Huawei’s wearable products.

There are hundreds of reliability tests designed by the product team. Among them, a quarter of the test items belong to the extreme durability test. For the Huawei smartwatches and bands that are going to the tests, this is undoubtedly a journey of no return. If the test fails, they will be disassembled to analyse and sent to the factory to destroy.

“In the future, Huawei will continue to increase the investment in the field of sports and health, and build another sports health laboratory in Songshan Lake, Dongguan which will collaborate closely with more than 10 of Huawei’s global science institutes, sharing R&D resources with the aim of building an innovative, industry-leading, and open Huawei sports health ecosystem. We also aim to provide consumers easy to use, professional and accurate health and fitness products,” said Rico Zhang.

With the rapid expansion of Huawei’s sports R&D facilities matching the brand’s growing repertoire of wearable devices to suit different consumer needs, the future certainly looks bright for Huawei’s Smart Wearable and Health Product Line. HOW DOES AIROFIT WORK?

Airofit generates resistance on your respiratory muscles – primarily the diaphragm and the intercostal muscles. This causes fatigue, which is then overcompensated by muscle tissue growth, making your breathing muscles faster, stronger and more efficient – just like any other muscle group.

HOW DOES AIROFIT WORK?

See how we turn proven breathing techniques into a data-driven training solution.

THE BASICS

Of all the body’s muscle groups, the ones with the power to make a fast difference for performance are the respiratory muscles – simply because we usually don’t train them.

Together with breathing experts like Mike Maric, we have developed a range of breathing exercises that focus on different areas of your breathing to ensure you are able to unlock your full physical potential.

SEE HOW BREATHING TRAINING AFFECTS CROSSFIT PERFORMANCE

THE BREATHING TRAINER

Your Airofit breathing trainer provides adjustable airflow resistance, making your respiratory muscles work overtime. Depending on the selected training program, duration and intensity, you will be able to select the most appropriate resistance level.

Airofit’s E-unit contains pressure sensors and a Bluetooth transmitter. This allows us to measure your breathing patterns and visualize them on your phone via the Airofit Sport mobile app.

THE MOBILE APP

Airofit has combined respiratory training with the latest technology by connecting the trainer to your smartphone.

Since all training is designed to be done separately form physical activity, your phone guides you through all exercises.

The app acts as a virtual breathing coach, giving you live feedback and ensuring all exercises are performed correctly since you see the level of your compliance. The access to your training data gives an overview of your progress over time.

YuJet Surfer electric jetboard promises 40 minute ride at up to 24 mph

No need to hit the beach to surf, you can make your own waves with the YuJet Surfer electric jetboard

A design team comprising pro surfers and engineers has revealed its first product aimed at having eco-friendly fun on the water. The YuJet Surfer is an electric surfboard that’s said to bring “the power of a jetski to a surfboard.”

YuJet Surfer electric jetboard promises 40 minute ride at up to 24 mph

Surfboards able to propel themselves are nothing new, but they’re still not a particularly common sight at beaches, lakes or rivers. If you want to make your own waves without polluting the local environment with noise and fumes, you could opt for even more rare all-electric boards. But it’ll cost you a pretty penny – the recently announced Rävik S, for example, could set you back almost US$19,000. A new e-surfer from YuJet washes up at almost half that.

“We’ve worked for years to create a product that can propel powered water sports forward,” said YuJet’s co-founder, Jeremy Schneiderman. “Our first product to market, the YuJet Surfer, is the culmination of our passion, our experience, and our vision for the future. We wanted to make a product that was easy to ride for every skill level and could deliver the thrill of surfing in just minutes. We cannot wait for everyone to experience the excitement of the ride.”
The YuJet Surfer electric jetboard can get up to 24 mph
YuJet

The YuJet Surfer, like the Rävik S, rocks a carbon fiber hull with Eva grips and neoprene handles that helps it tip the scales at 20 lb (9 kg), with the battery removed. That lithium-ion battery is reported waterproof and could keep you on the water for up to 40 minutes per charge. An electric motor drives a jetski-like water jet for up to 24 mph (38.6 km/h) of relatively quiet, local emissions-free e-surfing.

The wireless controller with variable speed trigger offers beginner and rider performance modes, and YuJet reckons that learners can be up and riding on the water in as little as five minutes.

And when it’s time to head home, the fins and battery can be removed without needing tools. The company has aimed for minimal maintenance too, with a quick spray down with clean water all that’s needed to keep the e-surfboard looking sharp. Optional accessories include a replacement battery, battery charger and wheel set (to help roll the board to waiting transport on land).

The YuJet Surfer is available from today for US$9,999, which ain’t cheap. But if you have the cash to splash, it does look like fun – as you can see in the short video below.
