The Gira HomeServer is the on-board computer for intelligent buildings. It connects the KNX system’s electrical installation to the computer network and the internet, thereby allowing intelligent building technology to be controlled centrally via a large number of operating devices, regardless of the user’s location. What’s more, numerous other technologies can be seamlessly integrated in the building control in this way – for example: door intercoms, cameras, and audio systems, as well as systems from other manufacturers for the bathroom or kitchen or for home entertainment. Expanding the KNX system with the Gira HomeServer offers numerous advantages: occupants don’t just enjoy the advantages of mobile technology control, but rather the full Gira experience, which provides maximum comfort, security and energy efficiency. The award-winning Gira Interface makes controlling intelligent technology enjoyable by enabling complex scenarios to be controlled easily – with just one finger.
Connection to the Gira IoT Portal (use of IFTTT & Alexa for example)
Connection of ONVIF/PTZ cameras via logic node
URL call for integration of websites in the QuadClient
Extension to 500 timers
Jump to the relevant function by means of a long keypress
Simple operation with the Gira Interface
With the Gira Interface, the user interface of the Gira HomeServer, controlling innovative building technology is child’s play. The menu navigation is clearly designed and intuitive. Any function can be reached within only two levels. Additional detailed information or operating elements are displayed directly in a pop-up window. This allows very convenient operation via touch screen – with just one finger. In addition, all the devices that can be used to control the building via the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer possess a uniformly structured interface design. As a result, users won’t need to get used to a new menu navigation each time – and it doesn’t matter whether you’re using a Gira G1, a PC, a tablet or a smartphone. The user interface has been adapted to the particular screen sizes of the individual end devices for optimum usability. The Gira HomeServer offers the resident a high degree of flexibility with self-configurable if/then scenarios in the Gira HomeServer app. This makes complex things easy to control – any time and anywhere.
In systems with a Gira HomeServer, the Gira G1 can now also be used as a client. With release 1, the Gira G1 displays the interface design of the Gira HomeServer. Nearly all the functions included in the scope of series delivery of the Gira HomeServer are supported.
Intelligent building technology from Gira makes living more convenient and comfortable – with functional details that are precisely adapted to the individual wishes and needs of occupants. The central control of lighting, blinds, and heating, design of room scenes, requirements-based single-room ventilation and heating control, fully automatic garden sprinklers, multimedia entertainment in all rooms, and much more. With the help of the Gira HomeServer, a wide variety of functions can be seamlessly integrated into the background atmosphere and provide a sense of wellbeing throughout the entire home.
Greater security in everyday life and in dangerous situations
The diverse security functions that can be implemented by being connected to the Gira HomeServer ensure a sense of security around the clock. Whether the risk is of burglary, fire, or storms – the Gira KNX system offers special solutions for a wide variety of dangers. Special applications such as panic buttons, video monitoring and occupancy simulations guarantee optimum protection for the home and its occupants. IP cameras with digest authentication can be integrated.
Improved energy efficiency with smart consumption control
With modern energy management, intelligent building technology from Gira not only helps to save power; it protects the environment too. The seamless interaction of the functions means energy consumption is reduced to a minimum and coordinated exactly to the individual requirements of the household. The energy module clearly displays all the consumption values at any time, meaning that occupants always have an eye on their energy costs and can permanently lower them – without cutting back on convenience.
high system flexibility through the client-server model
